Is it even possible for outsiders to live on Niihau? In the articles I've read, the only people who ever seem to live there are the native Hawaiians and the Robinsons. I figure that if anyone wants to purchase a house there, you can only do it through the owners of the island. Any information on this?

I think so, they own the land and you would need permission
First you would have to buy land off them anyway which could prove difficult. |

As the islands are fairly small I guess it will be hard buying property there! I don't think the people living there will sell it lightly and not without wanting heaps of money. It is a beautiful place tough!
